War Eagle!

I LOVE Auburn football!
Yes, I know I'm a married mother-of-one, but it's good to support your team, right?
Thanks, Lenzie, for the "eye candy"!

Squeaky Clean

Ford LOVES the bathtub! When you ask him if he wants to take a bath, he starts bouncing up and down! Bathtime is Joseph's thing, their time together while I'm cleaning up after dinner or relaxing for a few minutes watching Scrubs. Enjoy the pictures!

He stands by the tub and bangs his hands on the ledge watching it fill up!

He plays with his duck and the turtles Aunt Jennie gave him.

He loves to have water poured on him...he's a bit strange, but we love him just the same!

All Clean!

What Not to Say

The following stories are examples in what not to say to your loved ones when a family member is on the way to the hospital...

Joseph and I did a bad thing this morning - we skipped Sunday School and church. We have no good excuse, other than staying up late last night watching the worst movie ever made (Snakes on a Plane - 2 hours of my life I can never get back) and a child that is usually our 7 a.m. alarm clock but actually slept until 8:00. Anyway, I get a call on my phone around 11:00 from Clayton. I figured he was calling to give me a hard time about being a skipper. I answered and he said, "Shealy passed out in church this morning and we're in the ambulance. I can't get ahold of your mom, so get in touch with her." Click. WHAT??? Of course, I'm already sobbing hysterically imagining the worst case scenario (she's got some rare untreatable disease) and the best case scenario (yay! she's pregnant! another niece or nephew!) But the bottom line was, I knew next to nothing from that cryptic phone call! Buddy, give me more information! That's my sister you're talking about! Turns out, she's neither diseased nor pregnant, she just has a really bad "gastrointestinal" virus on top of chest congestion, which caused her to get dehydrated and pass out. At church. The place I didn't go because I wanted to find out if Samuel L. Jackson made it off the plane full of snakes. Talk about feeling slightly convicted. God, I totally got the message. If my sister can make it church in her condition, I can go a little sleepy.

Next example, same situation...my mom called my dad to let him know Shealy was on the way to the hospital in the ambulance. She was trying to be reassuring and told him their friend, Bill Harris, was with her in the ambulance. Mr. Bill works occasionally as an EMT, but my dad only knew about his other job. As the COUNTY CORONER. Yes, my mom told my dad the coroner was with Shealy in the ambulance. As you can imagine, he totally flipped out! I don't know how my mom calmed him down, but the moral to both of these stories is, even in high-stress, panicky situations, THINK before you talk! Especially to highly emotional sisters and quick to jump to the worst conclusion fathers!

Shealy, the poor thing, is at home sleeping off the nausea medicine. I think she's more embarrassed than anything else, but Clayton said that everyone just kept right on singing as they carried her out! I told her she probably has more people praying for her now than she ever has before!

The Newest Additions to Our Family

This is my new brother-in-law, Clayton. He and Shealy got married on June 9th, and it was without a doubt the most joyful wedding I have ever been to. I don't know if it's just a big sister thing or what, but growing up, I always thought about and prayed more for the man Shealy would marry than I did for myself. God answered those prayers in a bigger way than I could have ever imagined! They are so perfect for each other. They just really balance each other out in every way. And he loves my little boy, which certainly endears him to me even more!

(And yes, Ford might have a slight case of man boobs in this picture!)

And this is their new puppy, Millie, a.k.a. Ford's new best friend! She is so cute! They already had one dog, Daisy, Clayton's black lab from when he was in high school. Since they have a great fenced-in backyard and Shealy has wanted a puppy for forever, they went ahead and got Daisy a little friend! Ford wasn't quite sure what to think of her at first, but he warmed up to her quickly. Now when our family gets together, there are six adults, one baby, SIX dogs, and an anti-social cat. INSANITY!

Confessions of a Blog Stalker

Well, I've decided to take the plunge and hop on the blog bandwagon. This event is way past due, as I've been a full-on BLOG STALKER for going on a year now. It is an addiction! There is no telling how many hours I've wasted reading about my "friends"...people that have no idea who I am but are willing to share every detail of their lives with me! Of course, it all started with people I know and love, but everyone has links to other blogs that link to other blogs, and so on and so forth. I can't explain it, but it just sucks you in! I'm sure I'm not the only one out there!

Anyway, because our family and friends are spread out all across the country, this is a great way to let everyone have a glimpse into our everyday life! Ford is 9 1/2 months old and as sweet as they come. He is a happy little boy who loves to eat, sleep, and play with our dogs. His new favorite trick is to sit in his high chair and sneak (or throw) them whatever he's eating, and then just laugh and laugh as they chase after it! Hours of entertainment!

Joseph loves his job at BancorpSouth Bank, especially dealing with drama of working with mostly women! I decided to not go back to teaching this year, and I am working part-time with my mom. We write title insurance for real-estate...and yes, it is just as exciting as it sounds. But it means I only have to work 2-3 days a week, and the rest of the time I get to stay at home with our precious little boy!

That's all for now! I have a lot of free time at work, so check back frequently for updates!
